Here are some other trails that take in Suffolk churches
Waveney Valley Walk
Unlike the River Stour, made famous by John Constable, the beauty of the Waveney Valley remains unsung.
Here’s an easy to moderate walk of about 7 miles between the historic market town Beccles with its magnificent church and Geldeston with its lovely old Wherry Inn.
You’ll start in Beccles to walk alongside the River Waveney to Geldeston before crossing the marshes and returning to Beccles along the Angles Way.
Haughley Walks
There’s a chance to properly explore historic Haughley with its lovely medieval church dedicated to The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin and full of interest.
The walks also take in the 15th century Wetherden St Mary the Virgin, nominated by writer and broadcaster Diarmaid MacCulloch as a welcoming church used by generations of villagers and a ‘church crawler’s dream’.

National Trust Railway Trail
From one famous medieval wool village to another and the chance to visit two of Suffolk’s most magnificent churches in one day! This could make a near perfect day out. The walk between Lavenham and Long Melford is an easy 4.5 miles along the old railway line where wildlife flourishes. It will probably take you only a couple of hours so you can arrive in time for lunch at one of the many great eating places at either end.
