Church Tourism
The tucked-away Suffolk village of Shelley will host a weekend of glorious open gardens with dazzling floral displays and paintings in the beautiful little church of All Saints.
The Flower Festival and Art Exhibition will be held on Saturday 18 June at 11am-5pm and on Sunday 19 June at 2-5pm. The open gardens include that of Sarah Cook at Hullwood Barn, famous for her National Plant Collection of irises bred by Sir Cedric Morris and shown at last year’s Chelsea Flower Show. The gardens of Shelley House and Shelley Hall will also be open to view with teas and plant stalls to enjoy.
The Shelley Art Group was formed two years ago with most of the members complete novices. Their exhibition in the church is titled ‘The Beginning of a Journey’.
