Church Tourism
Join a church crawl around the mysterious Suffolk Saints on Saturday 25 June.
You will visit three historic churches on the crawl and hear the fascinating stories these ancient buildings have to tell. Who was Edward Fernley Bisshopp and Herbert William Bryans? Find out at the magnificent St George St Cross South Elmham where your journey starts. At the round tower Ilketshall St Margaret, discover more about the lost wall paintings, and at Ilketshall St John, admire the tallest banner stave locker in England as well as a window given by a future king before tucking into nibbles and enjoying a glass of wine
The Crawl begins at St George’s Church, St Cross South Elmham at 2.30pm, then to Ilketshall St Margaret, concluding at Ilketshall St John – where wine and nibbles will be available. Participants travel in their own vehicles.
