Suffolk’s Ride and Stride

Thousands of individuals, families and groups of all ages, will take part in the annual 'ride and stride' on Saturday 10 September 2016, and are already planning their routes and signing up sponsors. This will be the 35th Suffolk Historic Churches Sponsored Bike Ride and Stride as the scheme began in Suffolk before spreading country-wide. The Nightingale in Love – Baroque Love, Melancholy & Birdsong will be performed at St Mary Magdalene Thornham Magna on 18 September at 4pm. The Viennese classics are the theme of the next Lavenham Sinfonia concert at the great wool church of Lavenham St Peter and St Paul. They feature Beethoven's No. 1 symphony in C major, Hadyn's magnificent trumpet concerto in E flat major played by John Jermy, and what is arguably the greatest of all Haydn’s symphonies, The ‘London’ symphony,  written in 1795 for the second of the composer’s trips to England.
