The Nightingale in Love – Baroque Love, Melancholy & Birdsong will be performed at St Mary Magdalene Thornham Magna on 18 September at 4pm. Lavenham Sinfonia

The Viennese classics are the theme of the next Lavenham Sinfonia concert at the great wool church of Lavenham St Peter and St Paul. They feature Beethoven's No. 1 symphony in C major, Hadyn's magnificent trumpet concerto in E flat major played by John Jermy, and what is arguably the greatest of all Haydn’s symphonies, The ‘London’ symphony,  written in 1795 for the second of the composer’s trips to England. Chelsworth Open Gardens Day
